Patsy plays with several different bands/ musicians on a regular basis. Here is some information about the bands and the kind of music they play:

 

                  

THE PATSY GAMBLE BAND

 

This is Patsy’s own band she has put together to play original material from her new album ‘After Sunset’, as well as a few covers in a similar jazz funk style.

 

 

 

 

 

Current personnel include:

Patsy Gamble on saxophones/ vocals, and the following musicians:

 

John McLellan – Guitar

Originally a trombone player, John taught himself to play Jazz guitar at the age of 18. Since that time he has performed as a solo artist   but is most commonly seen supporting Patsy Gamble –   as part of the duo, the quartet and the larger Patsy Gamble band and has performed in the UK, Ireland and France.

He has also been involved with music education, teaching at jazz workshops both in the UK and in Spain.

 

Mike Candler - Drums  Mick has an extensive list of album credits for drums and percussion and has performed with Bimbo Acock, Arizona Smoke Review, Decameron, Mick Dolan, Johnny Coppin Band, Phil Beer, Anthony Head, Julie Mairs, Magna Carter, Matt Clifford, Roy Hill, Nigel Mazlyn Jones, Nonny James, Paul"Wix" Wickens, Waterfall, Steve Ashley, Steve Knightley, Phillip Goodhand-Tate and Carl Wayne and is currently a member of the Hawds and Patsy Gamble Band.

Mark Butler – Bass

Mark cut his teeth in the ‘80’s on the alternative music scene in New York, playing at many major venues in New York and the East Coast, supporting acts such as Living Colour, Crowded House, Peter Murphy and Sham 69. After playing in ex- Jesus And Mary Chain’s John Moores band, he moved back to England and joined his brother’s band The Hawds and depped for….well anybody! He got seriously into Jazz and R’n’B doing the pubs and clubs with ex-Manfred Mann’s Steve Waller and joined Patsy in 1995.

 

 

Graham Barr – Keyboards

 

Beneath his current exuberant improvisational stage style lies the seasoned composer & arranger. Graham has worked with dance schools & theatre groups to create music for set pieces most notably seen at the Cheltenham Dance Festival and recently at the Sage Theatre in Gateshead. Other credits include soundtrack work on Peter Symes produced documentaries for BBC TV as well as scoring & MD-ing shows for local theatre.

 

Jo Ann Butler – Percussion and Backing Vocals

Jo Ann began playing guitar and singing with her four sisters at the age of ten.

She played bass and rhythm guitar in punk bands and performed extensively in the New York club and art scene throughout the 1980’s.

She moved to the UK in 1990, studied drums and percussion and performed in such bands as ‘Baldy Blotch and The Daddio Pop Group’ and The Hawds.

DOLLY JAMES

 

Dolly James is fantastic session soul singer who has worked with many chart topping acts such as Belinda Carlisle, Bronski Beat, Van Morrisson, Mike Oldfield, Michael Bolton, Simply Red, James Taylor Quartet and Drizabone.

Working as SOULAR, Patsy and Dolly have put together a great set of soul, funk and RnB covers as well as including some of their own original numbers.

NONNY JAMES

 

Nonny James is a seasoned singer/songwriter and classically trained pianist who has worked with many great musicians. She is also a presenter/producer of her own show on BBC Radio Hereford & Worcester on Thursday evenings between 7-9pm.

EUGENE ‘HIDEAWAY’ BRIDGES

 

Eugene is a fantastic blues guitarist and singer from Houston, Texas. He works with a lot of different musicians from duo right up to 8-piece big band with horn section, and plays all over the world. When he’s in the UK he likes to work with Patsy and The Little Big Horns Brass Section wherever possible.

KEITH THOMPSON

 

Keith is a singer/ songwriter in the blues – rock area of music.

He is an excellent guitarist and has produced several albums of his own material. He tours regularly in Europe with his own band and is often joined by Patsy on saxophones.

TOP CATZ is a fantastic ten piece band with three glamorous girl singers, fabulous costumes and an exciting brass section. They play an exiting mix of songs from the '60's right through to the present day.
